Tranquil Oak Woodland

For a bachelor client with a special property tucked up in the Sausalito hills, an ivy-laden hillside underwent a complete garden renovation. A new path and stairway ascends a steep slope through an oak grove to a deck with a stunning view of San Francisco Bay. Basalt paving coordinates with the color of the house; new potted plants with Olea 'Little Ollie' soften the setting without competing with the view. The added firepit creates a destination that emphasizes the site's connection to the city. A parking area with carport at the rear of the garden created an opportunity for a dining patio with custom steel planters and outdoor lighting. An APLD Award winner, this is a harmoniously designed space where one can't help but slow down and take a calming breath.
