Stinson Beach Retreat

Stinson Beach in West Marin is an iconic destination and cherished refuge for generations of Bay Area residents. There, it’s all about the experience of being immersed in a dynamic coastal ecosystem. Our latest Sea Drift project is a place of peace and safe harbor for our client. This is a home that is both very personal and very private — a place for reflection and for family time. The scope of our work extended from the street side front garden through a sheltered courtyard protected from the wind to benches sited at the edge of the beach overlooking the endless Pacific. The landscape has a wild, indigenous feel, celebrating texture, color and “right plant, right place,” especially on the beach side where native ice plants help hold the dunes in place. Of utmost importance here is the primal atmosphere, especially looking out, dune, beach, ocean. Here Mother Nature takes charge; she is the canvas.
